The panel-mounted Honeywell KX-155A is a solid state, gas discharge digital display NAV/COMM Transceiver that is a part of the KCS-55A Compass System when used with a KI-525A HSI and a KN-72 VOR/LOC converter. The KX-155A transceiver provides two way voice communication within the frequency range of 118.00 Hz to 135.975 MHz (760 Channels) in 25 kHz increments .The KX-155A also provides reception of navigation signals within the frequency range of 108.00MHz to 117.95 MHz (200 Channels).

The KX-155A has a high temperature protection system. If the transmitter and modulator circuits become hot enough to potentially damage any components in the transceiver, a protection circuit will automatically reduce the transmitter power consumption and output power. The KX-155A has a bright gas discharge display that shows simultaneous active and standby frequencies for both the NAV and COMM sides. The KX-155A is 2.00 inches high, 10.16 inches long, 6.25 inches wide and weighs 4 to 5.50 pounds depending on the version.
